Frequently asked questions

What we buy, how lots are reviewed, how pricing works and how material leaves your site. If your question is not here, call or send the details.

Scope and material

What types of wire do you buy?

Copper and aluminum building wire (THHN, THWN, THWN-2, XHHW, XHHW-2), bare and insulated copper including welding cable, MC and AC cable, tray cable and TC-ER, PLTC, VFD cable, SER, SEU, URD, USE-2, SOOW and other flexible cable, control and instrumentation cable, low-voltage and communication cable, and 5kV through 69kV-and-above power cable.

What do you not buy?

Transformers, switchgear, breakers, motor control centers, generators, bus plugs, chillers, machinery, vehicles and general scrap. We buy wire and cable only, and we do not offer demolition or cleanout services.

Do you buy partial reels?

Yes. Partial reels are the most common surplus there is. Tell us the size, the approximate length remaining and the condition, and include a photo of the reel tag.

Do you buy used or removed cable?

Sometimes. Removed cable is reviewed on jacket condition, construction and length. Photograph the worst point of the jacket and say how it was stored. Cable with exposed conductor or heavy abrasion is usually not usable.

Do you buy wire that has been stored outside?

Often yes. Aluminum and copper conductor do not degrade from weather, but insulation, reel flanges and jacket printing do. Send photos of the jacket and the reel ends and say how long it has been outside.

Do you buy from a single job site or only from warehouses?

Both. Job sites, shops, plants, farm yards and warehouses are all normal. Tell us what access exists and whether the site needs notice, an escort or a dock appointment.

Pricing and commitment

How is the wire priced?

On construction, conductor metal, size, remaining length, condition, quantity and logistics. There is no published price list because those factors vary by lot. Send the details and you will get a specific answer.

Do you guarantee that you will buy my material?

No. Every lot is reviewed on its own facts, and submitting details does not guarantee an offer or acceptance.

How much wire do I need to have?

There is no published minimum. Single reels are reviewed, and shelf lots are reviewed. Distance and material both affect whether a pickup makes sense, and we will tell you honestly when it does not.

Is there a fee to review my wire?

No. Reviewing the details and photos is free, and there is no obligation to sell.

Sending a lot for review

What information do you need first?

Wire type, conductor metal, size or gauge, voltage class if known, approximate footage, condition and packaging. Then photos: reel tag, jacket legend, cut end and the whole stack.

Can I send photos by email instead of the form?

Yes. Email them to saleselectricalbuyers@gmail.com with the same details, or call (614) 715-3047 and describe the lot. The form is simply the fastest path because it collects the fields we need in one go.

How large a photo upload is allowed?

Up to eight images at 8 MB each through the quote form. If you have more, send the most useful eight and mention the rest, or email additional photos.

What happens after I submit the form?

Your details and photos are sent to us by email. We review them and reply by phone or email, usually with questions about anything unclear, or with a next step on pricing and logistics.

Coverage and logistics

Do I need to deliver the wire?

No. Pickup or shipping is arranged once pricing and logistics are agreed. If delivery suits you better, say so on the form and tell us where the material is.

Do you buy outside South Dakota?

This site covers South Dakota material. If the wire is in a neighbouring state, say so on the form and we will tell you whether it is something we can work with.

Still have a question?

Call (614) 715-3047 or send the wire details and photos. We will answer directly rather than pointing you at a policy.
