Wire we buy

We Buy Surplus Aluminum Wire and Cable in South Dakota

Aluminum building wire, SER/SEU, URD and USE-2 in reels, coils and cartons.

Aluminum is the workhorse conductor on South Dakota service entrances, rural feeders, irrigation and utility work: XHHW-2 aluminum, SER and SEU service-entrance cable, URD direct-burial and USE-2. When a service is re-sized or a rural build changes, reels of aluminum are left behind.

We buy aluminum building wire from #14 through 1000 MCM, plus SER, SEU, URD and USE-2 assemblies in two-, three- and four-conductor constructions. Send the reel tag, the jacket print and the conductor size and we can review the lot.

  • Full reels, partial reels and coiled service lengths

Aluminum assemblies are priced on conductor size, conductor count, insulation and length — a triplex URD reel and a same-size XHHW reel are different products. Photograph the overall jacket print, not only the individual conductors.

Aluminum that has been badly kinked or crushed at the reel flange is usually not usable conductor. Show us the damage and we will tell you what we can do.

How to send it for review

Use the quote form on this page or call (614) 715-3047. Include the wire type, size, conductor metal, approximate footage, condition and packaging, plus photos of the reel tag, the jacket print and the cut end. If the material came out of a specific project, say what it was — it explains the lot faster than a description alone.

We review building wire and common cable from across South Dakota and reply with questions or a next step. Nothing is committed until pricing and logistics are agreed.

Questions about Aluminum Wire & Cable

Do you buy URD and USE-2?

Yes. Underground distribution cable and direct-burial cable are common surplus from rural and agricultural work. Tell us the conductor count, size and remaining length on each reel.

Is aluminum worth buying if it is weathered?

Often yes. Aluminum conductor itself does not degrade from weather, but the insulation and the reel do. Send photos of the jacket and the reel ends and describe how long it has been outside.

Sell your surplus wire

Send the details and photos

Tell us what you have and where it sits. Reel tags, jacket legends and a photo of the whole stack are usually enough to start a real conversation.
