Surplus Wire Buyers for South Dakota Manufacturers and Fabricators
Machine builds, line changes and panel shops leave cut cable, spools and reels that are still good material.
Manufacturers and fabricators buy cable to build machines and wire lines, then keep the remainder because it might be needed again. Over time that becomes racking full of partial spools: VFD cable, tray cable, control and instrumentation cable, welding cable, machine tool wire and motor feeder conductor.
We buy that material in South Dakota — copper tray and VFD cable, multiconductor control spools, welding cable, THHN and XHHW, bare copper and low-voltage cable. Mixed lots and cut lengths are fine as long as they can be identified and the lengths are stated.
Where surplus wire tends to come from
- Machine builds and skid packages with leftover cable
- Production line changes and equipment relocations
- Panel shops with partial spools of control and power cable
- Welding and fabrication cells with surplus welding cable
- Preventive maintenance stock that has aged out of the crib
- Plant electrical upgrades with orphaned feeder and tray cable
What we buy from this sector
- Tray cable, TC-ER, PLTC and VFD cable
- Control and instrumentation cable on spools
- Welding cable and machine tool wire
- THHN, THWN, XHHW and XHHW-2 building wire
- Flexible cord and portable power cable
- Bare copper grounding conductor
Pickup and shipping
Most manufacturing pickups are dock-height with a forklift on site, which keeps it simple. Tell us the dock hours, whether reels are palletized, and whether any reel is too large for a standard forklift. If a reel needs a crane, say so up front.
How to submit a lot
Send the wire types, sizes, conductor metal, approximate footage and condition, plus photos of the reel tags and jacket legends. Tell us the city and ZIP where the material sits and the access rules at the site. If the lot is mixed, list the constructions you can identify and note roughly how much of each.
Questions from this sector
Do you buy cut lengths from machine builds?
Yes, when the length is tagged or measurable and the construction is identifiable. Label each piece with its length and include a photo of the cut ends.
Can you review a crib inventory list instead of photos?
A list helps us scope the visit, but photos decide it. Send both: the list tells us volume, and the photos of jacket prints and reel tags tell us what the material actually is.
Surplus wire at a manufacturing & fabrication site?
Send the details and photos. We will review the material and come back with a plan for pricing and logistics.
