Wire we buy
We Buy Surplus Insulated Copper Wire in South Dakota
Insulated copper conductor of every construction, including welding cable and mixed lots.
Insulated copper covers everything with a jacket and a copper conductor: building wire, welding cable, machine tool wire, battery cable, pump cable, fixture wire and the mixed reels that accumulate in a maintenance shop. If the conductor is copper and the insulation is sound, it is worth reviewing.
We buy insulated copper by construction and by size, in coils, spools, reels and cartons. Because there are dozens of jacket types, the printed legend on the jacket is the single most useful photo you can send — it tells us the insulation, temperature rating and voltage class at a glance.

- Machine tool wire, appliance wire and fixture wire

If the jacket print is worn off, tell us the approximate size and what the cable was used for. A photo of the cut end showing the conductor and insulation layers answers most of the questions.
We do not buy general scrap wire, burned wire, or mixed debris. Insulated copper here means identifiable electrical cable that can be reviewed as material.
How to send it for review
Use the quote form on this page or call (614) 715-3047. Include the wire type, size, conductor metal, approximate footage, condition and packaging, plus photos of the reel tag, the jacket print and the cut end. If the material came out of a specific project, say what it was — it explains the lot faster than a description alone.
We review building wire and common cable from across South Dakota and reply with questions or a next step. Nothing is committed until pricing and logistics are agreed.
Questions about Insulated Copper Wire
Do you buy welding cable?
Yes. Welding cable in #6 through 4/0 is common surplus in fabrication and maintenance shops. Tell us the size, the colour and the length, and send a photo of the jacket print.
What about a barrel of mixed cut-offs?
Send a photo of the barrel contents and tell us roughly how full it is and what the cable was used for. Mixed cut-offs are reviewed as a single lot, and the answer depends on how identifiable and how clean the material is.
Sell your surplus wire
Send the details and photos
Tell us what you have and where it sits. Reel tags, jacket legends and a photo of the whole stack are usually enough to start a real conversation.
