Agriculture, Grain & Food Processing
Grain, feed, dairy, meat processing, cold storage and biofuel facilities run hard electrical systems, and expansions leave usable cable behind.
Surplus wire purchasing · South Dakota
Have unused, excess, overstock or project-surplus electrical wire? Send us the wire details and photos for a purchase quote. We buy copper and aluminum wire in reels, spools, coils and cartons throughout South Dakota.
Types of wire we buy
Everything on this site is surplus electrical wire and cable. No transformers, no switchgear, no machinery — just conductor, insulation and the reels it came on.
Branch-circuit and feeder conductor pulled in nearly every South Dakota project: copper and aluminum building wire, bare and insulated copper, grounding and service-entrance cable.
Armored, tray-rated and flexible constructions used in plants, mills and processing facilities, where a change order can strand hundreds of feet of cable.
Multiconductor control, shielded instrumentation and paired signal cable left over from plant upgrades, controls retrofits and commissioning.
Fire alarm, data, coaxial, speaker, security and irrigation cable — often boxes or partial spools that never went back to the distributor.
5kV through 69kV and above: shielded, EPR and XLPE insulated power cable in single- and three-conductor constructions, including concentric neutral.
Material we review
Most South Dakota surplus is not a truckload. It is a shelf of partial reels, a pallet of overstock, or the cable left after a project closes. We review lots of every size and tell you plainly whether it is a fit.
How selling works
You keep the wire until pricing and logistics are agreed. The sequence below is the whole process.
Use the quote form or call. Wire type, size, metal, footage and photos of the reels, tags and jacket legends.
We look at the construction, condition and quantity, and come back with questions if something is unclear.
We discuss value and how the material moves — pickup, loading, freight or delivery — before anything is committed.
When both sides agree, we arrange pickup or shipping to suit the site and the schedule.
Who sells to us
These are the kinds of organizations that hold surplus wire. They are potential sellers, not customers, and no company is named or implied as a reference.
Grain, feed, dairy, meat processing, cold storage and biofuel facilities run hard electrical systems, and expansions leave usable cable behind.
Substation work, generation maintenance and renewable projects leave medium-voltage cable and control cable on reels.
Every closed job leaves a shelf of partial reels. We buy the shelf, not just the full reels.
Machine builds, line changes and panel shops leave cut cable, spools and reels that are still good material.
Heavy industrial operations replace cable on a schedule and keep the removed lengths. Some of it is still usable.
White-space fit-outs, power upgrades and network builds generate over-ordered cable and orphaned spools.
Renovations, tenant improvements and equipment replacements leave building wire, MC cable and low-voltage cable behind.
Before cable goes in a dumpster, it is worth finding out whether it is still usable conductor.
Built for real yards
Wire in South Dakota is stored wherever there was room: a rack in the shop, a pallet behind the plant, a reel on gravel beside the building. Tell us how it is stored and what can load it, and the pickup plan follows.
South Dakota coverage
We arrange pickup or shipping across South Dakota. We do not keep an office in every city, and no city page here claims one.
Material outside these communities is still welcome. Tell us the nearest town and ZIP on the quote form and we will tell you what a pickup or shipment looks like.

Questions sellers ask
Copper and aluminum building wire, industrial and tray cable, control and instrumentation cable, low-voltage and communication cable, and medium- and high-voltage power cable. Full reels, partial reels, spools, coils and cartons are all reviewed. We do not buy transformers, switchgear, breakers, motor control centers, generators, machinery, vehicles or general scrap.
No. We arrange pickup or shipping once the material has been reviewed and pricing and logistics are agreed. Tell us where the wire physically sits, what loading access exists and any site restrictions, and we will plan around it.
Yes. Partial reels are normal surplus. Include the wire size, the approximate length left if it is marked, and a photo of the reel tag. If the length is unknown, say so on the form rather than guessing.
The printed legend on the jacket and the reel tag carry almost everything: wire type, size, voltage class and often the footage. Photograph both. If the tag is missing, a close-up of the cut end and the jacket print usually identifies it.
Send the details and photos, or call and describe what you have. We will tell you what we need to see and whether we can make a pickup work.
