Surplus Wire Buyers for South Dakota Demolition and Maintenance Contractors

Before cable goes in a dumpster, it is worth finding out whether it is still usable conductor.

Demolition and decommissioning work produces cable in bulk, and the default destination is a dumpster or a scrap bin. Some of what comes out is still usable: cable on reels that were never installed, spare lengths left in a rack, feeder conductor from a panel being removed, and tagged coils from a plant that closed.

We buy recoverable cable in South Dakota before it is scrapped — building wire, tray and VFD cable, control cable, medium-voltage reels, bare copper and low-voltage cable. We are not a general scrap service: the material has to be identifiable electrical cable that can be reviewed and reused as conductor.

Where surplus wire tends to come from

  • Decommissioned plants and closed facilities
  • Interior demolition with recoverable cable in racks
  • Spare reels found in maintenance stores during teardown
  • Panel and service removals with usable feeder conductor
  • Equipment removals with intact flexible and control cable
  • Plant maintenance projects with replaced but serviceable cable

What we buy from this sector

  • Building wire, tray cable, VFD cable and control cable
  • Medium-voltage reels with readable tags
  • Bare copper and insulated copper conductor
  • Flexible cord, portable power and welding cable
  • Low-voltage, data and fire alarm cable
  • Tagged cut lengths and partial reels

Pickup and shipping

Demolition sites change daily, so tell us where the material will be staged and when. If the cable is still in a rack, say whether it can be pulled intact or has to be cut out. Loading equipment and site access are the two questions that decide whether a recovery trip works.

How to submit a lot

Send the wire types, sizes, conductor metal, approximate footage and condition, plus photos of the reel tags and jacket legends. Tell us the city and ZIP where the material sits and the access rules at the site. If the lot is mixed, list the constructions you can identify and note roughly how much of each.

Questions from this sector

Will you buy cable that has already been cut out?

Yes, if it is identifiable and tagged or measurable. Cut-out cable is priced on condition and construction. Send photos of the ends and the jacket print.

Is this a scrap service?

No. We buy surplus and recoverable electrical wire and cable as material for reuse. We do not take transformers, switchgear, breakers, MCCs, generators, machinery, vehicles or general scrap.

Surplus wire at a demolition & plant maintenance site?

Send the details and photos. We will review the material and come back with a plan for pricing and logistics.
