Electrical Wire Buyers South Dakota

Wire we buy

We Buy Surplus THHN and THWN Building Wire in South Dakota

THHN, THWN and THWN-2 copper and aluminum building wire in reels, coils and cartons.

THHN and THWN are the two building-wire constructions that end up surplus most often in South Dakota. A branch-circuit pull gets re-estimated, a panel schedule changes, a job closes out with four reels still banded, or a distributor is holding colours and sizes that stopped moving. We buy that wire by the reel, by the coil or by the carton.

Send the jacket legend, the wire size and a photo of the reel tag and we can usually tell you where it stands the same day. Full 500-foot and 1,000-foot reels are easiest, but a partial reel with a readable tag is still worth pricing.

Building wire is priced on conductor metal, insulation type, size and remaining length, so the reel tag matters more than the photo of the stack. If the tag is gone, measure the conductor and send a close-up of the jacket print.

We do not publish a price list, and we do not guarantee that every lot is a fit. Send the details and photos and we will tell you plainly whether we want it and what the logistics look like.

How to send it for review

Use the quote form on this page or call (614) 715-3047. Include the wire type, size, conductor metal, approximate footage, condition and packaging, plus photos of the reel tag, the jacket print and the cut end. If the material came out of a specific project, say what it was — it explains the lot faster than a description alone.

We review building wire and common cable from across South Dakota and reply with questions or a next step. Nothing is committed until pricing and logistics are agreed.

Questions about THHN / THWN Building Wire

Do you buy partial reels of THHN?

Yes. A partial reel is normal surplus. Tell us the wire size, colour and the number of feet left if it is marked, and send a photo of the tag. If the length is unknown we can still review it — just say so on the form rather than guessing.

Will you take mixed colours on one pallet?

Usually yes, as one lot. List the sizes and colours you have and attach a photo of the pallet so we can see how it is packed. Mixed pallets are reviewed as a single pickup rather than reel by reel.

What if the wire has been outside for a year?

Send photos of the jacket and the reel. Sun-faded or dirty wire is common in South Dakota yards and is not automatically a problem, but insulation damage, water intrusion and crushed reels are. We will tell you what we see.

Sell your surplus wire

Send the details and photos

Tell us what you have and where it sits. Reel tags, jacket legends and a photo of the whole stack are usually enough to start a real conversation.
